Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
StayAudits (“the Service”) is a web application and Chrome browser extension that analyzes accommodation reviews using AI and provides alternative booking links. This policy explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and what is stored.
1. Data We Access
The Service reads the following publicly available data:
- Review text — publicly visible guest reviews on accommodation listing pages (Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda).
- Listing metadata — listing ID, property name, location, and thumbnail images. This is the same information visible on the public listing page.
We do not access your account credentials, personal messages, payment information, or any private data.
2. How Data Is Used
Review text and listing metadata are used solely to:
- Generate AI-powered review analysis via the Google Gemini API.
- Construct alternative booking links to Booking.com and Agoda with relevant search parameters.
No data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than providing the Service's features.
3. Data Storage
AI analysis results are cached in Google Firestore, keyed by listing ID only (not by user identity). This cache avoids repeated API calls when revisiting the same listing. No personally identifiable information (PII) is stored.
The Chrome extension caches API configuration locally via chrome.storage with a 24-hour TTL. No personal data is stored locally.
Your recently viewed stays are stored only in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Gemini API— review text is sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase / Firestore — analysis results are cached, subject to Firebase's Privacy Policy.
- Booking.com, Agoda — alternative booking links open these platforms in a new tab. Their own privacy policies apply once you navigate to their sites.
5. Cookies
The Service does not set tracking cookies. Google Analytics (GA4) may be used for anonymous usage statistics when configured via environment variable.
6. User Rights
Because no personally identifiable information is collected or stored, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. The Firestore cache stores only listing IDs and AI-generated summaries — no user identifiers.
You can uninstall the Chrome extension at any time from chrome://extensions. Uninstalling stops all extension data processing immediately.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
